LOS ANGELES, November 18, 2016 --  Hillsides, a foster care charity, won three PRism awards recognizing the best in Los Angeles area public relations at the 52 Annual PRism Awards Show held by the Public Relations Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter (PRSA-LA) in Hollywood on November 16.  Hillsides received awards in the categories of 1) Crisis Communications – Associations/Nonprofits/Education, 2) Issues Management- Associations/Nonprofits/Education, and 3) Integrated Communications – Associations/Nonprofits/Education.

LOS ANGELES, November 15,  2016 -- Sara Simpson, a senior managing director at Fidelity Investments in Los Angeles, has been selected to chair Hillsides annual gala, “Las Flores de Hillsides,” to be held on February 25, 2017. Simpson, who has been a gala committee member since 2013, also serves on Hillsides board. In addition, she volunteers for Hillsides Youth Moving On program for youth transitioning from foster care to adulthood.

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 10, 2016 – Youth from Hillsides foster care charity won the award for best film at an annual film festival for children in foster care on November 5. The teens won for their film, “I’m Not Normal,” about a teen who is tormented by guilt after the drowning of his sister.

LOS ANGELES, November 8, 2016 – Hillsides, a foster care charity, has launched a #GivingTuesday campaign, #kidsfirst, to help financially challenged families put food on their table during the holidays.  The goal of the campaign is to raise $6,000 to provide 60 families with $100 worth of groceries.   Hillsides serves 13,000 children and families across Los Angeles County, many of them below the poverty line. For families struggling to survive, the holidays add financial stressors that can trigger despair and anxiety.

LOS ANGELES, October 21, 2016—Rachael Worby, artistic director and founder of the Pasadena orchestra MUSE/IQUE, was honored last night by Hillsides  during the foster care charity’s Circle of Excellence dinner in Pasadena honoring volunteers and major donors.  Worby, who for the last five years has brought musical performances to the children in Hillsides residential treatment services program, was awarded a Hillsides Community Angel Award by Hillsides Chief Executive Officer Joseph M. Costa.
