LOS ANGELES, January 21, 2021 – Hillsides, a Southern California foster care and mental health charity, has named Joseph M. Costa, its retiring President and CEO, as Honorary Chair of its first-ever Virtual Gala “Raising Hope,” to be held online in February. Costa, the President and CEO emeritus of Hillsides who has served for more than 11 years, is leading this unique gala format that is being presented virtually, free and open to the public for the first time ever due to the coronavirus pandemic.

LOS ANGELES, June 25, 2020 – The Hillsides Board of Directors today announced that Hillsides’ Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Stacey Roth has been tapped to succeed President and CEO Joe Costa, who is retiring from Hillsides next year after more than 10 years in the role. Roth will assume the role of CEO on July 1 and take on the President role in January, at which point Costa will become President and CEO Emeritus until his retirement in late June 2021.

LOS ANGELES, May 11, 2020 – Hillsides has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Pasadena Community Foundation to purchase food, groceries, and basic supplies for foster and transitional-aged youth as part of its COVID-19 Response Fund. Hillsides was one of 26 local nonprofits who received support from the Pasadena Community Foundation, which awarded a total of $372,000 in grants to local community-based organizations serving families and individuals experiencing extreme hardship from the economic, social, and physical impact of the COVID-19 crisis.

LOS ANGELES, December 5, 2019 – For the 10th consecutive year, Starbucks has organized a Holiday Toy Drive for foster care charity Hillsides. Beginning this Monday, December 9, Starbucks will have decorative toy collection boxes in 51 San Gabriel Valley stores. Customers are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys at participating Starbucks. The Toy Drive is set to run through Saturday, December 21.
