(PASADENA, CA)--Pasadena drivers and pedestrians have a new sight to entertain them as they navigate the streets of the city: eye-catching banners promoting Hillsides, a Los Angeles children’s charity celebrating 100 years of service this year.
As of April 1, banners have been installed on portions of Arroyo Parkway and Foothill Boulevard. Beginning April 16, more banners will be installed on Colorado Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue.
The banners feature Hillsides new logo, which was unveiled recently at the charity’s Centennial Gala held at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. The logo, a colorful pinwheel, represents hope and vitality, and in some cultures is believed to be an instrument that turns obstacles into opportunities. Hillsides new tag line, creating lasting change, is also featured on the banners.
“We are excited to have this chance to raise Hillsides’ visibility in the community,” said the charity’s chief executive officer, Joseph M. Costa. “This year is a huge year for Hillsides, and we are delighted that we can spread the word about our organization and our vision. We hope that these banners will inspire even more people to get involved in Hillsides.”
The banners are sponsored by Rusnak Auto Group, which has generously supported Hillsides throughout the years. Elizabeth Rusnak Arizmendi, Rusnak Auto Group’s Vice President of Public Relations, served as the chair for Hillsides Centennial Gala and helped raise $655,000 for Hillsides, a record amount.
Hillsides is a premier provider dedicated to improving the overall well-being and functioning of vulnerable children, youth, and their families. Its mission is to provide high quality care, advocacy, and innovative services that promote safe, permanent environments where young people can thrive.
The placement of banners throughout Pasadena is just one of many exciting events Hillsides has planned for its centennial year. To learn more about Hillsides, please visit www.Hillsides.org.
