LOS ANGELES, January 16, 2019 – Tickets are available for Heart of Brazil, Hillsides annual gala, to be held on Saturday, February 23 at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. The gala will celebrate the best of what Brazil has to offer, from Brazilian food and decorations to entertainment that showcases the culture’s signature dances, the samba and bossa nova.
Guests will also have a chance to bid on many live and silent auction items. Highlights include a 12-day all-inclusive cruise on board Crystal Serenity, Venice to Barcelona, donated by Crystal Cruises; a Barbara Poer Designs signature jewelry piece artisanally created with gemstones mined exclusively in Minas Geras, Brazil; and a guided tour for four of the revolutionary Telsa Factory.
The gala, Hillsides’ largest fundraiser of the year, is being chaired by three long-time supporters of Hillsides, Edison Barbosa, Bill Eichler, and Pam Mahon. The funds raised will support Hillsides five core programs: a residential treatment program for children in foster care; a program for youth transitioning from foster care; Hillsides Education Center, a nonpublic school for students with academic and/or behavioral issues; family resource centers offering mental health services; and a foster care and adoption program. The charity serves nearly 17,000 children and families throughout Southern California.
Tickets for Heart of Brazil are $300. Tickets can be purchased online here. To sponsor the gala or if you have any questions, please contact Bernie Gore, Hillsides special events manager, at 323-543-2800, ext. 12253 or bgore@hillsides.org.
