(PASADENA, CA) Annette Ermshar, Ph.D., is a busy neuropsychologist who doesn’t take a lot of time to pamper herself. But that changed when she was the winning bidder of “The Art of Glamorous Living: Being Susan Pinsky” package auctioned off at Hillsides annual gala held in Pasadena in February. As the winner, Ermshar received the royal beauty treatment from head to toe and the opportunity to walk down the red carpet at the recent MTV Movie Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
“I’m normally a workaholic,” said Ermshar. “This was so much fun!”
The event also landed Ermshar on the fashion map – one celebrity web site included her as one of the “best dressed” of the night.
The package was assembled by Hillsides gala chair and social media personality Susan Pinsky, and included being escorted to a celebrity event by Pinsky’s husband, TV host and long-time Hillsides supporter, Dr. Drew Pinsky. Other perks included a spray tan, eyelash extensions, a manicure-pedicure, a spa/salon date, loaned jewels, and a couture dress to wear.
Ermshar’s MTV Movie Awards red carpet moment kicked off with a flurry of beauty appointments, including multiple dress consultations with husband and wife dress designers Rebecca Goldsmith and David Klein of Goldsmith & Klein. Ermshar had been promised a dress on loan, but received more than she’d hoped for when Goldsmith & Klein decided to make her one.
Ermshar had a rough idea of the concept –a red cocktail dress – and the designers went to work creating her something stunning.
“We only had a week and a half to create the dress and normally we have three – four weeks from start to finish,” said Klein. The duo quickly but meticulously whipped up an exquisite cocktail dress made of iridescent silk taffeta with sequins on the bodice and feathers on the sash for extra pop.
“I felt beautiful in the dress,” said Ermshar. “It was fun, but elegant, which is hard to capture, but the dress did it perfectly.” Celebrity website Radar Online mentioned her and Dr. Drew as some of the best-dressed of the night.
Ermshar also got to keep the gown, which would normally retail for $2,200.
Also making Ermshar glamorous during the evening were Sylva et Cie Jewels, Pasadena’s Bravo Salon, and EyeDazzle Lashes in Pasadena.
