WHO: The Peer Resource Center (PRC), a one-stop shop of centralized support for youth in need ages 16 – 25, will celebrate its one-year anniversary. The PRC is part of Hillsides program for transition-age youth, Youth Moving On.
WHAT: Open to the community, the celebration includes lunch and refreshments, youth awards, youth speakers, and a short film celebrating the PRC. The event will also provide games, a photo booth, music, food, prizes and more.

WHY: To celebrate the need the PRC is fulfilling in the community for transition-aged youth. Since opening its doors in April, 2013, 463 different youth have visited the PRC for a total of 5,835 visits. The majority of the youth are current or former foster/probation youth. The PRC is the only drop-in center of its kind within 15 miles and serves youth from throughout the San Gabriel Valley. It gives youth access to clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, career planning, professional development, social skills, independent living skills, money management, and more. The PRC has placed over 50 youth in internships or part-time and full-time jobs.
