LOS ANGELES, May 24, 2018 -- Hillsides, a child welfare and foster care charity, has adopted a Risking Connection® staff training program to help clients recover from trauma. Risking Connection®, a registered trademark of the Sidran Foundation, was created by the Traumatic Stress Institute, and emphasizes recovery through four channels under the RICH acronym, Respectful, Informative, Connected, and Hopeful. The plan is for Hillsides’ entire agency of 520 staff to receive training in the next two years.

LOS ANGELES, May 16, 2018 -- Hillsides, a Southern California mental health and foster care charity, has received a $5,000 grant from the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA). The grant will fund Hillsides music education program. The music program provides music classes and enrichment activities to the students of Hillsides Education Center, a therapeutic 1-12 school for children with social-emotional, learning, and/or behavioral challenges.

LOS ANGELES, May 7, 2018 -- Hillsides, a mental health and foster care charity, has launched an “In Search of Happily Ever After” campaign in conjunction with May being Foster Care Awareness Month. The goal of the campaign is to recruit more resource parents (formerly known as foster parents) for Bienvenidos foster care and adoption program. Bienvenidos is an affiliate of Hillsides.
