The inaugural “Battle of the Paddles” ping pong tournament held on October 16, 2014 raised more than $86,000 for the Pasadena-headquartered charity Hillsides. The tournament itself made $43,000 and those funds were matched through a recent bequest to Hillsides from the Pierose estate upon the death of long-time Hillsides supporter Dorothy Pierose. The money will be put toward Hillsides $12 million capital campaign to improve Hillsides aging Pasadena campus.

Four outstanding individuals and organizations were recognized at Hillsides Circle of Excellence dinner held at Noor in Pasadena on October 21, 2014. This annual awards dinner recognizes donors and volunteers who have gone above and beyond in giving their time, talent, and resources to Hillsides.

(PASADENA, CA)--Hillsides has received a $2 million bequest, the largest in its 101-year-old history. The bequest is from the Pierose estate, and is the result of a planned gift made to Hillsides upon the death of Dorothy Pierose in July, 2013.
